Appfire is one of the Atlassian Marketplace's largest app vendors, building and supporting dozens of apps used by thousands of Atlassian customers worldwide. With that kind of scale comes significant recurring, manual work across support, engineering, and marketplace operations; the kind of work that quietly consumes hours but rarely rises to the top of a roadmap. Appfire's leadership knew AI could help.
What they needed was a structured way to turn that instinct into a plan specific to their business, their technology stack, and their people. Appfire’s Solution Architecture Team brought Praecipio in for a full-day AI Strategy Workshop. To expand the technology firm’s already extensive AI & engineering skills with Claude, Praecipio designed a workshop meant to creatively push the limits of what Claude could do for them and leverage agentic workflows in their pre and post-sales technical functions.
Challenge
Like most software companies employing AI, Appfire wasn't short on ideas. Its teams were already proficient in their use of AI technology, from use of coding assistants, chatbots for tier-one support, and an AI-native mentality throughout. The goal of this engagement was to expose their Solution Architects to novel approaches to AI tech, expand their thinking about what’s possible, and amplify the reach of this highly technical team of Atlassian experts.
To facilitate this, Appfire’s Solution Architecture Team needed to better communicate the Product Team’s vision to customers, and provide market feedback to adjust the roadmap for the issues customers have. They also needed a partner who could work efficiently within a single day and still leave the team with concrete functional improvements they could act on immediately.
Solution
Praecipio designed a single, intensive, full-day Claude training workshop built around live discovery, AI demonstrations, and real-world examples. Ahead of the session, Appfire leadership completed a structured pre-work questionnaire so Praecipio's facilitators could tailor exercises to Appfire's stack, stakeholders, and constraints and verified comprehension on Appfire’s high-level of maturity with AI technology.
On the day itself, Praecipio’s Workshop Facilitators led discovery and prioritization exercises, and worked directly with Appfire’s Solution Architecture Team to build live implementation POCs in real-time using Claude against their current processes. Together, they turned some of the ideas Appfire brought in into tangible artifacts Appfire could implement.
Every discussion and prioritization decision was captured on a visualization board, giving Appfire's cross-functional group a single source of truth to reference post-training.
By the end of the day, Appfire’s department head achieved a reframed perspective of how Claude can be used to iterate and further accelerate an already AI-native process, and established a new protocol between the company’s functional groups about how to leverage Claude together. Praecipio enabled them to leverage AI tooling to further support and augment the people and systems that Appfire employs.
Results
With a shared perspective in place, Appfire’s Solution Architecture Team was armed to do exactly what the engagement set out to: accelerate their already AI-native processes and think creatively about AI tooling for even better, faster results. The overall business impact is significant, and continues to evolve as Appfire’s broader teams adopt next-generation iterations of their processes using Claude, with Praecipio’s continued guidance over the long term.
On measurable business outcomes: early estimates from the Solution Architecture Team show 8 additional hours of time saved per week since this engagement with Praecipio. The bulk of that gain, a 5x reduction in engineering time, comes from the instance optimization process, where Claude's output consistency cut down on rework and manual QA passes. Under the team's original manual process, the same instance optimization work consumed 10 person-hours per week across the Solution Architecture Team.

Together, Praecipio and Appfire implemented a 30/60/90-day roadmap, with ongoing Praecipio AI Advisory sessions to continue the momentum. The roadmap gives Appfire's executive sponsor a clear owner and deadline for each initiative, with visibility on the current state of an already-accelerated process and where additional Claude skills and integrations can further support them. Appfire now has a solid understanding of AI technology enabling its next wave of ideas and putting them into action.
